Aerial 1080 Operation

OSPRI’s TBfree programme managers have advised Wenita that Berwick Forest and Mt Allan Forest are to have aerial 1080 applications in Autumn / Winter 2016. This will have significant implications for hunters with dogs. Please click here to find out more about what's planned.

Bird Survey

A bird survey covering areas of the estate due for harvest over the next 5 years was completed in October 2015 by Graham Parker of Parker Conservaton, and his report is available here.

Pophams Block Harvesting

Logging has commenced in the Pophams Block, just south of the Taieri Ferry bridge at Henley. Initially the focus will be on establishing road access into the forest, and the main harvest operation will begin early in 2016. Road users and neighbours will notice increased traffic levels along Titri Road.
