Forest Access

General Permits

All forest access is by permit only. This is to ensure the safety of all forest users. General Access Permits are free of charge and can be applied for by contacting the Wenita Forest Products Mosgiel Office on 03 489-3234 during office hours. Wenita will use its best endeavours to accommodate your request within the constraints of its forest operations and other permitted activity. To assist with processing your request, intending forest users are urged to make application for General Access Permits at least 3 working days in advance of the required date. If your access request is for a group i.e. walking group, mountain biking event etc, then you are urged to make a written application detailing number of people, activity and forest route at least 6 weeks in advance of your prefered date to ensure your event can be accommodated. Charges may be imposed at Wenita's discretion.

Motorcycle Permits

Motorcycle riding is by permit only and restricted to Akatore Forest and parts of Berwick Forest.
There is a $5 administration charge per person for each permit issued.

Hunting Permits

Hunting is by permit only. Permits are self-issued to registered hunters.
