Health and safety audit

Avid Plus conducted an audit of Wenita’s health and safety system in early February (led by Woodflow Manager Alec Cassie and [former] Health, Safety and Environmental manager Willie Sinclair) to identify
opportunities for improvement.
The assessment was a mix of documentation and systems’ review, site visits and stakeholder meetings. The Wenita system was measured against AS/NZS ISO 45001:2018, the Health & Safety at Work Act
(2015) and components of the SafePlus standard.
Auditor Robyn Bennett concluded there is a positive focus on health and safety within the organisation and clear leadership commitment to keep all staff and stakeholders safe.
The recommendations for improvement, detailed in the draft report, are primarily focused on developing and maturing the health and safety system to further enhance the processes already in place.
We look forward to receiving the final report and beginning to implement the recommendations.
