This year Parker Conservation followed 46 known pairs of Karearea (falcons) in the coastal Otago area and found 26 nests.

Six of the 26 nests were recorded as failures, while the other 20 produced fledglings.

Nine nests were found in the Wenita estate, with only one failing. Two of the nine nests were located in Byrnes Road in the Brocks Block, which resulted in restricted work around those two nests.

Four chicks were successfully raised from the Byrnes Road nests. Thank you to Griffin Logging for keeping these two nests safe by following all procedures.
