New fixed head felling machine

Griffin Logging has added a new felling machine to its operations.
Wenita had been keen on adding a fixed head into the mix for some time, and Griffin Logging’s Shane Griffin took this on board and purchased a fixed felling head on a John Deere 959.
Operator Marty Nolan is really impressed with the new machine, finding immediate benefits in less breakage and better stem placement, which leads to more stem volume extracted to the skid and improved value recovery.
Marty points out that it is such a different style of felling that he has had to pretty much forget all he knew and start again.
We are delighted to see this machine operating in the forest.
